There is a nonsurgical therapy that can make a remarkable difference in softening and virtually eliminating these deep furrows.

During your consultation with one of our physicians, it may be determined that BOTOX® therapy is the appropriate course to reduce your frown or worry lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic acts as a nerve impulse blocker. When present, it binds the nerve endings and prevents the associated muscles from activating or contracting. If the muscle does not contract, then the overlying skin will not furrow or crease.

BOTOX® therapy is performed by our doctors in our outpatient centers. The injections themselves take just minutes, and there is very little discomfort. Usually makeup can be reapplied before patients leave the office, and normal activities can be resumed that day. Some results from BOTOX® therapy will be seen in the first few hours, but it generally takes one to two weeks for the full effect to become apparent. BOTOX® treatment is usually repeated two to four times a year to maintain the desired effects.
